An Eye for it or Just Big Cameras: What Is More Important for Better Photography

Every time someone asks me, what camera do I use, I feel awkward. Asking a photographer what camera he uses is like asking a chef what utensils does he use to cook. 7 out 10 people, ask this question thinking good pictures are only a result of using a good camera. As someone who have been playing around with cameras for more than a decade, that is a myth. While it’s true that cameras play a role in the quality of an image there are a lot of other elements that are more important.
If you asked me what is my best shot ever, I would say the ones I didn’t! Good photographers have an eye for it. To get there, it takes some practice & learning. You might the most expensive of cameras but if you don’t understand how to compose a photograph taking into account the subject, colors & light, you are not likely to click a good photograph. Like someone once told me, it all starts with keeping your eyes open.
