When Bad Things Happen to Good People: To Hope Again

Most people seem to be the happy lot until you get to know them for real. More the people we get to know, the more we realize that each one of us experiences pain & sadness in our lives with no exception.

And the professor said “As frightening as it can be, the pain will make you stronger if you allow yourself to feel it. Embrace it. It will make you more powerful than you ever imagined. It’s the greatest gift we have that we can bear pain without breaking, and it’s born from a human power to hope. Please, we need you to hope again.”  (Courtesy: X-Men : Days of the future past)

Most people seem to be the happy lot until you get to know them for real. More the people we get to know, the more we realize that each one of us experiences pain & sadness in our lives with no exception. For some, it’s a bad boss or a bad wedding, while for the other it is unemployment or the distress of being single. To each his own they say, with none being trivial. How’s it then for some of us it is easy to get back being normal,  while the others slowly slip into a dark world of depression. Are these just lucky people or there is more to it.

While you can sit in a corner till the cows come home, ruminating why bad things happen, you have a choice to make. A choice to hope for a better tomorrow & to believe you will be happy! And that very thought causes a positive ripple effect impacting you & the people around you – bringing happiness back into you your life. Somethings in life are easier said than done but if you are now sitting in a corner depressed about something, I wish you start hoping soon. A hope of a brighter life tomorrow and that very thought will soon surround you with happiness.
